Hill House, a 10,720-square-foot concrete residence in Montecito by Donaldson + Partners, was created for art collectors seeking an expressive, site-responsive home that explores emotional and irrational design. Set atop a ridge with a planted roof and sunken courtyard, the warped doughnut-like layout integrates interior spaces with the landscape. Inside, dynamic forms and unexpected spaces — from a curated art environment to amenities like a theater and bar — reveal both comfort and whimsical architectural surprises.
