Exterior and Interior Domes, Arches and Vaults Framed Accurately and Easily with Pre-curved Metal Framing

/ PROJECT

Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church | Washington, DC

/ SCOPE

Develop curved framing systems for exterior domes, interior domes, arches, vaults and openings.  Define effective framing processes with the contractor and set sequence of installation.

  • Coordinate exterior and interior framing development and schedule.

  • Develop a cold-formed metal framing system to meet project specifications.

  • Utilize 3D modeling to develop and fabricate CFS framing elements with installation instructions.

/ SOLUTION

Radius Track developed cold-formed steel framing solutions utilizing 3D modeling for digital design-to-fabrication of precision framing elements for multiple curved surfaces throughout the project.  Data was extracted from the digital model to generate color-coded framing elements, installation and layout drawings for exterior and interior dome packages, arch, vault and opening framing assemblies.

  • Coordinate dome packages and framing assembly deliveries with the contractor to meet the schedule.

  • Extract data from the 3D model for precision fabrication.

  • Fabricate each dome framing package, arch, vault and opening assembly as a kit-of-parts for easy installation.

/ RESULT

Radius Track delivered multiple ACCURATE and TIMELY custom curved framing packages for domes, arch and vault assemblies throughout the project. Each scope was color-coded for EASY INSTALLATION and included installation and layout drawings to clearly identify each framing element, its location and installation sequence.
