/ SCOPE

Develop, fabricate and deliver a cold-formed steel framing system on a compressed schedule to set the geometry for a highly designed ceiling with grand skylights and light-coves covering 102,000 square feet of high end retail in a 2-story space.

  • Digitally design, as a kit-of-parts, a cold-formed steel framing system to meet each unique ceiling condition.

  • Fabricate and sequence framing elements according to the contractor’s installation schedule.

  • Adapt to as-built conditions that arise in the renovation portion of the work without compromising schedule.

/ SOLUTION

The custom framing package provided a kit-of-parts with color coded framing elements, installation drawings and 3D model details for the Contractor’s onsite tablets, and assistance from the Custom Fabricator’s design team.

  • Light-coves, soffit drops, expansion joints, curvilinear clerestory, skylights, tight floor-to-floor and structure-to-ceiling-below heights with mechanical systems were all digitally coordinated prior to fabrication.

  • Developed and fabricated a cold-formed steel framing system that set the geometry of each ceiling element.

  • With the Contractor, designed and developed a custom slip plate connection to meet movement criteria and maintain structural integrity.

/ RESULT

The Radius Track team’s expertise and collaboration with the Project Team resulted in a framing system that delivered GEOMETRIC PRECISION and SAVED TIME to meet the tight schedule. The Contractor’s decision to use a Radius Track Corporation framing solution increased site safety, productivity, and achieved the design intent.
