RADIUS TRACK DELEGATED DESIGN & DEFERRED SUBMITTAL PROCESS

Delegated design is the process where the design professional of record, the architect or engineer (AOR or EOR), defers detailed design and engineering responsibilities for certain building elements or systems. The AOR or EOR usually delegates design to a contractor or subcontractor and their “delegated design” professional, typically a professional engineer.

Deferred submittals are the portions of the design that are not submitted by the design team at the time of building permit application. Building permitting is provided by the local code enforcing official, otherwise known as authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), and they require the delegated entities provide professional engineer (PE) sealed documents, calculation reports, and other required information prior to occupancy and completion of construction.

Often the deferred submittal review and approval process requires some revisions and resubmittals. We work with you through this process and ensure you receive the required information to obtain approvals for permitting.
